FAQ The short answers

Questions people actually ask.

Is this the official Salesforce event app?+

No. Ohana Events is independent, and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Salesforce. It does not replace any official registration, credential, event pass, or communication. It is a guide to the unofficial events that happen around the conferences.

Which conferences does it cover?+

The whole circuit, not just one event. Dreamforce and TrailblazerDX in San Francisco, plus community conferences across the year such as WITness Success in Indianapolis, Buckeye Dreamin' in Columbus, Forcelandia in Portland, and Kiwi Dreaming in Auckland. You switch between them in the app, and more are added each season. See the full list on Conferences.

What does it cost?+

Nothing to browse and nothing to register. Individual events set their own rules, and a few may charge or require approval, but the app itself is free.

Do I need an account just to look?+

No. You can browse the feed without signing up. You only need an account when you want to do something: register for an event, save it to a schedule, or connect with someone.

Why is the venue hidden on some events?+

Hosts can keep the exact address private until you register, or until they approve your request. It keeps their event from getting crashed. You still see the neighborhood up front so you can plan your night, and the full address plus a map pin appears the moment you are in.

What is the difference between registering and requesting?+

Open events take an instant RSVP. Invite-only events are request based: you ask for a spot, and the host approves, waitlists, or declines. Some events register you through an outside link instead.

What do you share with the host?+

For events that need approval, your profile details and your request note or answers go to the host so they can decide. Private contact details are never shown to another attendee unless you both accept a contact exchange.

Is there an iOS app?+

The app runs in your browser today, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like a normal app. A native iOS build is on the way. Leave your email on the home page and we will tell you the day it ships.

How do I list my own event?+

Create an account and apply to host. Once an admin approves you, you can submit as many events as you run, for any conference on the circuit. See For hosts for the full rundown.

What data do you collect?+

Account and profile details, plus your activity in the app such as saves, registrations, and requests. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
